BOSS cohort learning

We began BOSS in 2010 after extensive research and analysis of what works for improving outcomes in public education. Improvement is linked directly with effective leadership, leaders who know how to lead change in complex systems. Unfortunately, leaders are often thrust into high levels of responsibility without sufficient support while doing the job. The job is impossible without commensurate technical and adaptive support. This is the primary reason we created BOSS and introduced an internationally tested cohort learning model for leaders like you.

In addition, we found national studies that validated the dire need for superintendents, for example, to be provided professional development support. Superintendents identify their top professional development needs as: 1) understanding systems and systems thinking, 2) developing interpersonal skills and, 3) strategic thinking. These needs remain the same over the past 40 years in the United States.

BOSS provides high quality, targeted professional development to each cohort based on unique learning needs. Our leadership model acknowledges that we must first know ourselves before we can lead others and help them learn and grow. When we accept that we are all learners, and, that we learn best in the context of our work, we are then capable to lead a team, department or an organization through a healthy change process and achieve improved outcomes for the organization.

Cohort experiences emphasize contextual learning, self-appraisal, leadership assessments, and case study methodology.   Cohort members are ensured a safe, secure and supportive environment.
